Following her completion of a Masters degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering at the University of the West of England in 2010, Krystina became the first engineer in her family and now has over 12 years of experience working in the Aviation industry.
Krystina also volunteers as an ambassador for science, technology, engineering, maths (STEM) and mentor. She is an active and vocal advocate for promoting engineering with articles in the media and also creates short videos for social media to engage and inspire young people. Determined to banish outdated engineering stereotypes, Krystina has given talks on engineering including keynote speeches, panel events and podcasts. In 2023 Krystina was selected as one of 13 Aviation Ambassadors for the Department for Transport for her work promoting aerospace engineering. She is passionate about encouraging and inspiring more young people, especially young women, to consider a career in STEM.

Her work has culminated in many awards including the WeAreTheCity Rising Star in Defence 2020, Baton award for STEM Trailblazer 2020, WeAreTechWomen TechWomen100 Award 2021, 2022 Top 50 Women in Engineering (WE50) Award, named as an Exemplar in The Manufacturer Top 100 2022 and being selected as a highly commended finalist for the Institution of Engineering and Technology Young Woman Engineer of the Year 2023.
After being told countless times throughout her career that she doesn’t look like an engineer, during lockdown Krystina founded her small business, AviateHer. Through AviateHer, Krystina sells accessories to promote diversity in engineering. Starting with the ‘This is what an engineer looks like’ pin badge she has now expanded for various careers in STEM and part of the proceeds from each item go towards various charities which are working towards improving diversity in STEM.
